This is a quick question I hope sombody can answer I am wondering if anybody knows howmuch power is lost through the drivetrain since most HP and Torque rating are given at the flywheel. On FWD VW we found a 22% loss (figured this out by running the motor on the engine dyno then in the car on the dynojet, and verifying it on the dynojet with the negitive HP feature) so if anybody knows wat the percentage is it would help me out. Thanks in advance

anybody have their car on dyno jet chassis dyno? did the dyno operator have any info on approx. Flywheel HP

thers ALOT of different factors involved!!....ive heard from 20% to 30%.

a friend of mine has a 70 chevelle with a 468 and it CHASSIS dynoed at 370 and the operator said it was 515 at the crank....thats a BIG difference!!!

ot sure about thisone but if you realy want to know your flywheel HP and dont feel like takiing your engine out of the car to test it, theclosest yu get is trying to find a dynojet facility with people wyo realy know alot about the car you want to test! i´m going to dyno my car at a company thats specialist in mopar and they have a bigger chans of having a workin correction factor for the power loss in the driveline , just my little advice

Guess I will just live with the results and not worry about flywheel HP, as what it is actually putting down to the ground is more important.
The place I used to work at has a dynojet (waiting on the 4wd atachment), but we know VW's and Audi's
Oh well just thought I would ask
