Changing my combo on my 68 dart. Now has a 340. 9.85 comp. ported 2.02 j heads. rpm intake. 750 preform dp. Cam is hughes solid 237 and 242 at .050. lift is .534 and .542. 2400 stall and 3.55 rear. New combo will be same motor except mopar 557 cam and eddy street tunnel ram with two small avs carbs. Converter will be 3600 stall and rear is 3.91. on 26in. drag radials. Cars has headers and 2.5in. exhaust. My best with my current combo is 12.94 at 106 and 1.94 60ft. Think I can get low 12s. or high 11s.

Your MPH is enough to run low 12's before any changes.

Carbs are too small.

Just the converter and gear change will get you low 12s.

12.35 - 109 The converter and the cam look like fun changes ! EDIT - I did not notice the intake and dual carbs, was counting on a nice 800 dp Holley or something. Maybe more gear. It'll be fun !

Thanks everyone. I was going to change everything at once but might give the converter and gears a try. I have the cam and TR set up which will eventually be put on. If I get 12.30s without the cam and TR might be a little longer before I put it on. I know it will take some tuning. Don't want to go to any deeper gears. Track is 65 miles away and I drive it there.
