I just learned how to use my scanner. Here's a shot of me slaughtering a Jetta with my Wife's GTI @ Englishtown. Ran a 15.1 @ 90 MPH in a dead stock turbo 1.8 witha 5 speed auto. Fun car... 8)

John, did you get a quick cat nap in on your way down the 1/4? ;-)

I am teasing. That is very respectable #s for a car like that. It's probably running slightly faster than most stock 318 A-bodies.

The car was only a few months old and probably had less than 2,000 miles on it at the time. It definitely feels faster now. We went to a VW show and for a $5 registration fee (and helmet rental...) I was on the track. And mind you, at my Wife's encouragement!

I'm hoping the next trip I take down the 1/4 will be slightly faster, and in the Barracuda.... =P~

scanned polaroid pictures would have you bested...but on scanned pictures subject here is what MY wife drove when I met her.

here is a scanned picture of our ole' 1995 Eclipse GSX 5-speed that was bone stock that I took to Germany while in the military.....it went 14.90's @ 90/91 with a 1.79 60ft a few times that day.

I was really shocked to find out that, without any modfications whatsoever Eclipse GSX's with manual transmissions DO NOT have any sort of Governor/Speed Limiter as the FWD turbo Eclipse's do and shut off @ 137 mph.

Our 1995 GSX would top out on the Autobahn at 155mph.

I later added many well researched modifications and the car went as fast as 13.06 @ 108 on pump gas and ONLY 20 psi.

Shortly before my Tour Ended, I wrecked it on a wet road (going slow BTW) and liked the car and had enjoyed it so much I bought a 1998 Eclipse GSX 5-speed. I put alot of money into it, went 12.77 @ 110 with it, and had alot of good memories and fun with it...here is a pic of it at its Prime with a friend of mine's Plymouth Laser AWD:

I recently sold the DSM to just completely get away from Imports and turn my attention back to my true love of Dodge Darts'.

With freshly gained knowledge I am planning on merging technologies of Turbocharged, Multiport Fuel Injected, Dual Overhead Cam (Hemi), 4 bangers, with a Classic 1970 Dart Swinger Automatic.

But thats just the long term goal....I am barely getting started on the body work....:read2:8)

Hey Prine how about a MP 4 cyl block with a MP hemi head, turbo, MPI, MoTec, and either a 904 or 5 spd. I think they still make the MP 4 cyl with the small block bell housing bolt pattern.

Hot Rod had a article on a Mopar P5 I-4 engine that made over 800hp on a dyno, and said that on 35 psi should have no problem making over 1000hp.

The article was about the BlowFish 2nd Gen Barracuda....and setting the top speed record for that engine.

Sick!

I've never seen that article, pretty cool.

What does any of this have to do with A-body restoration? :???:

The engine in that article was put into an A-body. We have a very diverse group of people here and many different approaches to building our a-bodies. This is just another alternative powerplant to keep our cars all Mopar  Sorry John didn't mean to Hijack your thread.
