Look at that. That is a beautiful car. 600 dollars? 19 hours to go? Bah! This is a crime. Just a little tranny work needed.:-x

I run into these so often while looking for parts for my old 66 valiant. Half look like poo and cheap, but randomly i'll run into a car like this one. I hope that in 5 or 10 years when i'm in the market to collect a few of these babies, these still pop up.

I think you have to add to your post that 4 door cars don't get any love either.

I do agree though - well worth the price.

Ever see the Renteria Brothers' '65 Valiant 4-door sedan A/GAS SUPERCHARGED Drag car??? If you can get your hands on a Nov. 9th edition of National Dragster, take a look at the picture at the top of page 63.
The little Valiant ran 6.78 (that's quarter-mile, folks, not eighth) to put away some BIG, BAD, blown '63 Corvette in the final at the sixteenth annual California Hot Rod Reunion.

You gotta love a Valiant like that; ESPECIALLY, a 4-door... LOL!

I've heard that they started out running that car in Stock Eliminator...

Have you seen how much this guy loves his early A-body?:

Here's a pic in case it disappears:

There's a good chance that car has the alum. block /6. A friend of mine had two 62 Lancers, one a GT and one a 4 door sean. BOth had that engine in it. Not good for racing or much else but it's one very cool little engine.

WOW.. sold for $710. Sure, these cars get no respect, but hey, neither did the later A's til recently. To me those cars are fugly, but the more I've seen them, the more they've grown beautiful. Oh, oh, maybe I'm starting to fall in love again, lol.

When kids, my friend's dad had an "ugly" copper 63 Dodge 330 4-door. We hated driving it, but people always gave us thumbs-up, and asked if it was for sale. Now I wish I had it.

I agree, a lot of people dont give any love to early A's, but I really like mine.

BTW, A-bodies weren't born until 63. The 62 in the link is a mid-sized car. close to 1000 lbs heavier than a 63 valiant.

I have never heard anybody call my 66 Dart "pretty", but that is part of the charm of driving one of the older A bodies. I like that they are still realitivly cheap!!

i think the 4 door kills it...

personally i would rather them get no respect.. that way the prices may stay under the control.. the body styler getting popular isn't always good..

I wouldnt complain. At least they are still affordable. Location has a lot to do with price also.

I guess that this will last forever. The 1988 Laser will not be popular until we see that, hey, there isn'y many around and then we start to restor the.

The early Abodies is the same. The late Abodies have started to get popular and now it isn't to far away for the early ones. Just look at the early convertibles, if you find a nice one it's usually about 15K and up for them. Just five years ago they were under 10K.

Prices havent gone up too much in the southwest. If you find them, they are usually priced pretty decent.

A guy who just joined our local club picked a '65 273 2bbl 'vert for 7K. Front-end damage but not too bad.

I met a guy at Mopars at the Strip who picked up a 66 /6 'vert for 3K, 2K in interior and it was a sweet ride. He drove it up from California for the event.

A guy in the local club knows where there is a complete 273-2bbl 65 Valiant that is 95% complete. I keep trying to get the location for it from him.

I'm glad they are cheap, otherwise I wouldn't have the $$ to be working on 2 of them.
