a few questions for you on the early A (63-66) LCA struts:

1) are the correct OEM bushings the 1 piece per side, push in and squeeze type? or the later A, two piece hockey puck looking bushings?
2) CAN you go with the later A bushings, and if so, wouldn't that tighten things up considerably over the 1 piece?
3) What is the length difference in the LCA strut, early A, to later A (OEM)

thanks

cannot answer the length question, 73 & up use a coarse thread .
Yes your car came with the push in type bushing.
go with the hockey puck style-- supposed to be improved design & very easy to install. Lawrence

I think all a-body strut rods are the same length, but I'm not absolutely sure. My strut rods are coarse thread on end and fine thread on the other.

As far as the bushings, as VDART said, go with the improved, two-piece design. I've used them in my 66 Barracuda with no problems.

lil cuda,, if you have corse threads-- your car has had your strut rods changed-- to the later 73- up style, i also believe them to be a little shorter than 62-72 style-- I do not know what effect that has on the suspension geometry. .Lawrence

When I rebuilt the front suspension on my Barracuda light years ago, I put the two piece poly bushings in. I had to cut them down quite a bit, but they work great. I have some parts off another car that has the two piece rubber bushings and they are all chewed up. Not sure the reason for the rubber bushings failing, but for that reason I like poly.
