Just what it looks like. Edelbrock LD340 for W2 heads. Like he said. Hen's teeth.

I think my chances of finding one are thin, still hoping though! The way I figure it, if STR-12's pop up now and then, perhaps I will get lucky with one of these.

The LD340TA discussion has come up before. But the actual intake seems rarer than the STR-12! W-2 heads came out around the mid '70's. It would be interesting to find out when the LD340TA intakes were actually made. Seems that it would have been too late for the Dodge/Plymouth efforts in actual Trans Am racing (Sam Posey/Swede Savage) because that didn't last long. Perhaps they planned to get back into it as the W-2's were being developed, it was for circle track/Kit Cars or somebody jumped the gun for street use with the Little Red Truck after Tom Hoover's W-2 LRT prototype turned out so well. Made after the Holley intake was used on the truck? There was a detailed article about it in a magazine which may confirm what intake it had. There were some welded up LD340 for W-2's made as well. But I don't recall which magazine it was.

Anybody know anyone who worked with Tom Hoover or Bob Mullins (cyl. head development) back in the day?
