Was at the WPC swap meet yesterday. Saw a guy with an Edelbrock LD4B intake manifold in a box under his table. I asked him if it was for sale. He replied with a "no". Told me it was an extremely rare LD4B that was specific to the W2 heads. I replied with a "huh?". As far as I know the Edelbrock LD4B was/is a dual plane manifold specific to the small port 318 heads. Anyone know anything about the W2 head claim?

He's full of ****. the "LD4B" is a specific part number for a specific application. if there was a similar manifold made for the W2 heads, it would have a different part number. Did you get to see the ports? He probably didn't know what he was talkin about.

All I know is that the D4B was for the 64-65 273, and the LD4B was the one that replaced it when the bolt angle changed and was then used on the 318-360 LA motors (66 273?). I am not for certain that this is total fact.

I had, in my hot little hands, an LD340 that was made for W2 heads. Never say never. I bought it from Keith Black in the early 90's.
