Will I see respectable gains in horsepower and torque in using an RPM or RPM Air Gap as compared to a stock iron intake on my 340 in my Cuda? The cam and bottom end is near stock and its a 70 model year engine with big valve heads(2.02's). Will there be clearance under the hood for the RPM or RPM Air Gap? Thanks.

Yes. I noticed a big differance from the stock intake to
a Air Gap. Don't know the numbers. But I really noticed
a big gain in torque. It helped drop my time slips also.

I dont know about the hood clearance issues ( of course you could get a drop base air cleaner) but the rpm make its HP in the upper rpm range. It supposedly will give a cooler intake charge and increase tq\hp but unless you have a 4-speed setup or a higher stall speed converter, I would say you'll be disappointed in the $$:performance ratio. JM02, but you can always do that later

There worth about 20 hp and lbs. of torque easy. This is a recorded dyno'd exper. from a few sources. At this amount, you'll not feel it on the but dyno. Use with a cam and headers, the improvement can be an easy 50 + hp.

do it. anything to get rid of that chunk of cast iron is good. notice the height difference side by side. my buddy runs a rpm and i run an air gap, both with holleys and drop base air cleaners and the hood shuts fine. to me its worth the investment.
