edlebrock carb questions

i have a edlebrock carb i think it is 600 or 650 cant remember, i have 360 with 904 trans, anyway it has a round dial on passenger side with adjustments, my adjustment is in middle could someone tell me what this is for and where it should be, also no passing gear but everything is hooked up, one last ? i have a wire on drivers side of carb about at bottom of carb it looks like it goes back to trans and has a adjustment on it when i fool with adjustment car shifts at different speeds does this have anything to do with passing gear? thanks

the "dial" would be a choke adjustment and "cable" for kickdown.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
