I was wondering if any here had hooked up a magnum EFI to an early small block? I have my 318 in the machine shop and am looking for a set of Magnum heads. I was just thinking of taking the whole top end and put on my 318. I have heard of people hooking aftermarket EFI's to early blocks but what about the stock ones? Anyone here use a MegaSquirt setup? Anyone know how well these are? How difficult is it to set an EFI system? Would it be even worth setting one up?

If I was to need an EFI setup, I'd use Megasquirt...Great expansion, and seems fairly straight forward to assemble and install. EFi isnt too difficult, but you need a bigger fuel feeed line, an EFI pump, and the return to the sump. Your kickdown needs to be modified, as it wont even come close with the beer barrel intake. The sensors and wiring arent hard, unless you're not familiar with what they do, and what they need to do their jobs. Would it be worth it? Not unless you're adding all kinds of boost, IMO. You can spend your energies on better things.
