OK, I'm tired of fighting this EFI. Cant get it to run right. I'm thinking of pulling it out and putting a carb on it. Question is, what intake will fit with the factory accessory brackets? I like the serpentine setup and it would be a pain in the butt to find all the correct brackets and pulleys. I would like to find a manifold that would fit right with those brackets/ accessories. What do Y'all think?

Well for starters, you are going to have to anty up with what 'it' is.

5.7 hemi?

5.2, 5.9 magnum?

TBI?

multiport?

Aftermarket?

RUSTY!!!! Where's your damn crystal ball!!

Sorry about that guys, it's a 5.9 from a 2000 Dodge Dakota. I have it installed in my 65 Dart. I'm talking about removing the "beer keg" intake and putting a 4 barrel intake on it. I have seen or read somewhere that the Air Gap thermostat housing is too far to the drivers side and the A/C compressor covers it. I don't want to start modifying brackets. Just want something that fits right.

What are you running for a computer? And what 'seems to be the problem. I tell ya. After what I've been through I will NEVER go back to a carb.

Exactly what I was going to ask. I think if you have having factory computer issues because of what's missing or that you've gone outside it's parameters, you may want to just switch to a stand alone like a Megasquirt or something similar. I just converted my 340 to Megasquirt 3 Pro and it's been running very well, just working on some minor fixes. It was running quite good within about two hours of initial crank, and it's the first time I've ever installed an EFI setup.

I used a ebay crosswind chinese knock off and 750 vac sec holley. have had zero issues ??? some people don't like them but I have not had an issue. I also just used the entire front off of 1968 318 pulleys, timing cover alternator etc. I have no idea if AC bracket fits my car was not even optioned with a cigarette lighter lol

I spend my days building standalone and custom harness' for the Magnum Engines. The fuel injection is an awesome upgrade to any classic mopar. PM me if you want and we can try to get you back on the road without pulling your intake off.

if you want to keep the serpentine system and go back to a carb set up, id convert the timing cover to the old style and buy the march pulley bracket system, I have one on my car "no ps or ac" and i love it. it will allow you to run an old alternator so the wiring stays stock.

I don't know but I wish to 'ell you guys who love carbs would box up all your useless EFI junk and send it over here

Here's my Magnum with factory serpentine & a carb

Well Guys, Magnummopar fixed me up. After talking to me over the phone, He told me what my problem was. I can't believe it was that simple. I've spent all kinds of money trying to fix this. I've replaced every sensor, fuel pump, wires, plugs, computer, and had it to two Dodge dealerships plus another mechanic and no one could fix it.
I was running the computer that came with the engine. It came from a 2000 Dodge Dakota RT. I couldn't get the miss out of it. After explaining to Magnummopar that I was running my 904 transmission, he said it was running in limp mode. It couldn't find the transmission. He told me to find a computer from a truck with a manual transmission and it would stop looking for the transmission. He knows his stuff. It fixed me right up.
Thanks Magnummopar, You da Man!!
