Electric booster pump with mechanical pump

So I have a couple of street strip cars that run well on their mechanical fuel pumps, but after the car sits for weeks, it takes quite a while to get gas up to the carb, and the bowls filled so it starts. This can't be good for various parts. I am thinking that an electric booster pump at the tank would solve the problem. Has anyone been using such a system? How is it working, what pump did you use (make and part #)?

On a brand "c",ran the Holley red pump,to feed the Hi volume Carter mechanical. Worked well.

have to be careful as soem pumps cant be sucked thru when off
