I am kind of new to this mechanical stuff but am trying hard to learn. My freind gave me a mopar electronic dist. for my car and it has no instructions can I use the old coil and do I need to use the condensor or just throw it out. (told ya it might be a dumb question). Thx in advance

Usually a points style coil will not work very well on a electronic. For the complete swap you need the ecu and harness also.

Here is a instruction sheet for the conversion:

Thanks 63dartman, I have been running my old points coil for a while and have not changed it yet. ECU coil will be in Victoria by Tuesday.

Ok, here's a REALLY dumb question! LOL

-- How do you know if its a points coil or ecu coil?

I bought an MSD Blaster 2 coil and intend to use it on my 74 318 with electronic distributer, a new electronic wiring harness from Bill Evans and a yet-to-be determined ecu box...I figured an orange box, or someone suggested using a aftermarker stock replacement from Wells.

Thoughts??
