I am looking for some advice on breaking in my new motor. The motor is rebuilt but has been sitting on a stand for the last 4 years and has never been run. It's a 440, steel crank, KB 10:1 pistons, 452 heads with hardend seats stainless steel valves, Mopar performance Cam.

Since the motor has been sitting for 4 years and never run I am looking for advice on what I need to do before cranking it up, currently the oil pan and valve covers and intake are off. looking for help on what to do before starting it and then cam / motor break in procedures. As always thanks for all the help.

I would flip it over and put some tranny oil in a spray bottle and lube cylinder walls and the crank and in the cylinders and turn the motor over and check all the machined surfaces.Lube up the valve train and lifters.I would get the base assembled and the oil pump installed and prime up the motor and get good oil pressure and check for leaks.Mrmopartech
