I have a Slant in my 80 Dodge van. It has been running fairly poorly since I bought it (the price was right), it seemed like the engine was missing on one cylinder. So, I did the ol' pull-one-plug-wire-at-a-time thing, and it turns out both #3 and #4 are sounding dead. The plugs are all firing properly, so I did a compression test, and all is within reason. I checked for any vacuum or manifold leaks, nothing. So, now I'm a little stumped, I'm thinking flattened cam lobes, or ??? Anyone have any other ideas?

Pull the valve cover off and watch the valve train. Fire it up it really wont sling oil everywhere. Plan on valve adjustment as this could be a solid lifter engine. If not you could have a colapsed lifter. It may have a pushrod out of place.
