I have a 68 dart with a 340 in it. Is it typical for the engine mount studs to bottom out in the k-frame slots. Mine does and it preloads the mounts and they eventually sheer. I believe everything is right as far as the mounts go. Car was a 318 car form the factory. Thanks.

The studs throught the bracket go in the lower hole and the studs fro the k frame should be higher. If that makes sense.

Sounds like the biscuits might be inverted.

The studs for the K frame line up closely with the lock holes in the mount brackets

We're assuming that you have the correct 340 engine brackets and that they're mounted on the correct side of the block ears? Maybe a photo of your setup?

Yes they are correct 340 mounts and on the right side. I finally took a die grinder and made the slots about a 1/4 inch deeper. Fits good now. I chaulked it up as bad factory tolerances on the k-frame. Looked at my freinds 71 340 duster everything was the same but it set different in the k-frame.

thicker mounts might help. Trucks had some thick mounts, that might raise the location of the stud in K frame bracket.

Thanks everyone. The truck mount would work but i need a smaller fan its very close to the upper hose now. After market radiator, hose is a bit lower.
