Engine Oil Priming

I've picked up the oil priming shaft but forgot to ask direction of drill rotation, clockwise or counter-clockwise and where will the oil show up most obviously?

Please help.

small block is clockwise and big block is counter clockwise. It will slow down when the pressure goes up. Watch your pressure guage. The best way to do it is to have someone slowly turn the crank (with a breaker bar) while you're spinning the oil pump. That will get oil up to the heads too.
