my old power wagon (440 holley 600) used to start just tapping the key after it was warmed up. last weekend was the first time ive put gas in since they forced this ethanol on us.
now when its warmed up, shut it down and it wont start. put the pedal halfway to the floor and crank for 8-10 seconds and it'll start with a big old puff of black smoke. so i know its flooded.
anyone else having any problems and what have you done?

I grew up in IL and there was ethanol in the fuel since at least '84 and I think even before then. I never had a problem with it.

Ethanol would cause your truck to run lean, if anything. Could the needles and seats be rust compromised? Floats sinking?

Sounds like a nice truck. Post a pic.

Yep.
What he says.
I posted a few weeks ago because the Marthon dealer showed me that were starting to put ethanol in and there aren't any labels on the tanks.
Everyone said this has been going on elsewhere and they haven't had problems.
I know I'm running it now with no problems.

well it had been running fine. it was too low on gas to make it to town so i brought home 6 gallons in a gas can. dumped that in and now im having problems. this thing has always started just tapping the key once warmed up.

Ethanol does attract and absorb water, which will cause rust. Just a thought.
