ONE AT A TIME

A physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't slow a train very much, a billion of them would. With that thought in mind, read the following, obviously written by a good American . . .

This probably sounds crazy, but just yesterday I was in Wal Mart looking for a wastebasket. I found some made in China for
$6.99. I didn't want to pay that much so I asked the lady if they had any others. She took me to another department and they had some at $2.50 made in USA . They are just as good.

Same as a kitchen rug I needed. I had to look, but I found some made in the USA and they were $3.00 cheaper. We are being brain washed that everything that comes from China and Mexico is cheaper. Not so. That is also why I don't buy cards at Hallmark anymore. They are made in China and are expensive. I buy them at Dollar Tree....50 cents each and made in USA .

Check this out. I can verify this because I was in Lowe's the other day for some reason and just for the heck of it I was looking at the hose attachments... They were all made in China .
The next day I was in Ace Hardware and just for the heck of it I checked the hose attachments there.

They were made in USA . Start looking .....

In our current economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else - even their job. So, after reading this email, I think this lady is on the right track.. Let's get behind her!

My grandson likes Hershey's candy. I noticed, though, that it is marked made in Mexico now.

I do not buy it any more.

My favorite toothpaste Colgate is made in Mexico ... Now I have switched to Crest. You have to read the labels on everything....

Good idea . . .. One light bulb at a time . . ..

This past weekend I was at Kroger . .. . I needed 60W light bulbs and Bounce dryer sheets.
I was in the light bulb aisle, and right next to the GE brand I normally buy was an off-brand labeled, " Everyday Value ..." I picked up both types of bulbs and compared the stats they were the same except
For the price . . . The GE bulbs were more money than the Everyday Value brand but the thing that surprised me the most was the fact that GE was made in MEXICO and the Everyday Value brand was made in - get ready for this - the USA in a company inCleveland , Ohio .

So throw out the myth that you cannot find products you use every day that are made right here...

So on to another aisle - Bounce Dryer Sheets... Yep, you guessed it, Bounce cost more money and is made in Canada ... The Everyday Value brand was less money and MADE IN THE USA! I did laundry yesterday and the dryer sheets performed just like the Bounce Free I have been using for years and at almost half the price!

My challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for everyday things and see what you can find that is made in the USA - the job you save may be your own or your neighbors!

If you accept the challenge, pass this on to others in your address book so we can all start buying American, one light bulb at a time! Stop buying from overseas companies!

(We should have awakened a decade ago....)

Let's get with the program and help our fellow Americans keep their jobs and create more jobs here in the USA ...

I passed this on . .. . Will you???

Going to have the talk with all my friends and family...
What a great right up It will not be wasted, and yes I will.

The only problem with many of the "Made in U.S.A." products is this :
the majority of the time , said products are made by non-citizens , or by citizens whom undercut wages .

Products are made in China for a couple of major reasons :

1.) California chased-away yet another manufacturer because of all of the damned regulations ;
2.) Some worthless white collar college assh:protest:le with a management degree convinced some dog fart CEO / CFO that a move to china would be "beneficial" to thee company's survival ;
3.) Unions have gotten out-of-hand . NOT necessarily the employees ; but the unions' whips have turbo-fu:bom:ked their Grunts and are in-kahoots with the pigs at the top , playing both ends against the middle .

I work at an international-wide auto parts store (whose name will remain anonymous) , and on a daily basis I see soooooooooo many parts which are made in China , Thailand , South Korea and other places , and these parts are "OEM-Spec" replacement parts !
Unless one buys used ( or , "previously enjoyed" as I call 'em) parts and refurbishes 'em , there's an unfortunately good chance that you're buying 3rd World Country junk .

Made in Mexico doesn't bother me . Many of Chrysler's parts are made by our brothers whom reside south-of-the-border ; Prestolite being a prime example (e.g. , battery cables).
Hell , if Mexico's economy is good -- or simply improves -- that'll keep everyone at home and less-likely to come to the U.S. for a better life =; .

I must say , the biggest irritation when it comes to Chinese-made monikers is the model car industry :wack: . The only model car company who's still U.S.-made is Lindberg . Revell-Monogram and anything under the AMT / MPC moniker (under the Round2 conglomerate and-or Model World) kits are China-made .
If the damned EPA , CARB , et al. , would loosen some slack , these companies could return to U.S. soil , and the price of their kits could remain the same (!!!).

Too many Americans dont read anything that isn't on a LCD screen today. Our government could help American business with something simple as a crawler on the bottom of every screen. Not sponsored by Walmart or who ever but sponsored by the people and for the people
Small tax breaks and sublimenting employee wages for small business are not fhesh new ideas.
Huge tax breaks for huge businesses both foreign and American are very popular with state governments today.
I pledge to carry my reading glasses in every store from today forward.
Thanks FABO

I'm on board.

Gotta ask one question, though. If we buy some products made in Mexico, would it create more jobs there and maybe more of them folks would stay there?

There should be a sign on the product that says "made by red blooded American citizens"

Good info. Thank you.

We all have to keep the fire burning and strive to bring productivity back to the USA.

First item of business : legalise every drug (especially marijuana and cocaine) , and drive those god damned cartels right out of business !!

Secondly : the majority of the folks whom live in Mexico are good , hard-working folks ; and , the same can be said about those whom come to the U.S.
The problem is that their government prompts its citizens to "head to the U.S. where their government will give you all kinds of free help!" .
Who in their right mind would turn that down ???
Shucked , hyped & screwed .
Lose-Lose situation .

In short : eliminate support for the cartels , and the corruption -- a HUGE portion of it -- will disappear .

A strong economy in Mexico = stability at the borders .

I do it every where I can. Just gota look.

Me too...if it says Made In China I pass it by if at all possible.

Another thing...the food products in the supermarket and especially at Trader Joe's-type places that say 'product of wherever' or 'farm-raised in...' I avoid because I know those facilities are not all being inspected and kept up to standards, using chemicals/antibiotics/who knows what else...oh h*ll no I'm not eating that stuff.

The mexicans are already here. The smart thing to do is promote their purchase of American products also. Coca-Cola has different labels for the different countries but do they put those labels on the shelves in this country ? I've not seen them.
Everything made in other countries and sold here is labeled in english.

very good information, I am on board so add another grasshopper to the track. Maybe will get enough on it to derail this sucker, Joe

"Them Folks"?? Like the one I am married to??

Always have checked the labels and always will. Thanks for putting it out there again!!!

"Them Folks"?? Like the one I am married to??

How about the one I am married to as well? By the way my wife is an employed elementary school teacher with a Masters degree as well as a special education endorsement. She works more hours a week than most people I know and has never asked for a handout from anyone!!!

........I can already see this turning into a battle.........there is lots of "them folks" that r great friends to most of us.......too me they r equals in every respect.......it takes all types to make the world go around........where is ur tv, camera or appliance made/assambled and from where do there parts come from...oh ya , what about ur guns...i seriously doubt u guys will throw away every single thing that u own that isn't made/assambled in AMERICA with made in AMERICA parts........I sure the hell wont.....kim........

I get what you're saying kim...at the same time we can try to support our economy at home, when possible.

Well, has anyone on FABO gone to the places mentioned in the chain mail, looked for the items mentioned, priced them, and verified that what is claimed is indeed true?

I am always suspicious of chain mail claims.

BTW, I always look to buy products made in the U.S. of A. Rarely are they cheaper than products made overseas. I tend to seek out the best quality.

Good information Grasshopper. I will study it, learn it, and follow in your ways.... :blob:
