I have not accepted any updates on my iphone, but Facebook.com/marketplace utilized through the ‘Safari’ internet browser is now denying me the use of the marketplace search function button-it now deflects to downloading the app, which I would like to avoid.

Have any of you guys or gals encountered this problem and so any of you have a solution?

Thank you!

I would like to keep multiple tabs open in the browser that include items that I am either interested in buying, or interested for how much they sell, and how fast they sell. I am not sure if I can use multiple tabs within the app, but would prefer to continue as before.

I despise the deviant alternative programming used by apps, such as data gathering (like with cookies, etc.) where apps such as Google maps report how fast you drive to the insurance company, or (in my experience) bank apps that take pictures of checks, that neither bank will honor the deposit nor the withdraw of the money.

These nefarious agendas were immediately obvious years ago when the flashlight app, which should take a few (or less) KILObytes of programming memory for the app, took more than 18mb.

What generation iPhone and what version of Safari?

I just checked it on my iPhone 13, and I can still search Marketplace with the search function on Safari. The app doesn't really let you open multiple tabs simultaneously but it's easy to save ads to go back to them.

I've never had any issue like you describe with apps, and internet browsers all collect cookies unless you disable those functions. Which you can do with apps as well, BTW.

It may be a glitch. (short rant:) I HATE Phlakebooke Marketpharce. Worst search engine on the internet.

I use a PC, web based, no app. I've had the search function as well as other functions just quit and stop for a day or three.
