I have a 70 swinger 340/904 with the lokar throttle cable.

Can I use a factory kickdown linkage with it?

Thanks!

I may still have my old 318 / 904 linkage you can have cheap, but I agree with Tekslk, why change from Lokar?

I'm sorry I may have not been clear. I have the Lokar throttle cable (carb to gas pedal) but NO kickdown at all. The Lokar kickdown is 80+ I figure the factory kickdown, if it worked would be cheaper

As long as you still have the original throttle bracket installed AND as long as the kickdown stud on the carb is still there, I don't see why you can't. Did the factory put a 904 behind a 340?

I can dig in my shed on Sunday and send a pic if I still have the linkage. I believe I do. If you think it will work, I'd be happy with ten bucks and shipping.

I have the throttle brakcet still. the carb is an edelbrock AVS 650. The 904 was behind a 318, I upgraded the motor to a 340. :)

I'd be down for $10 bucks, but I don't know if it will work, thats why I am here. lol

The 2bbl linkage won't work properly with a 4bbl without modification. You will need to modify the 2bbl bracket and the carburetor rod or you will need a 4bbl assembly.

The stock 2-barrel kick down won't work with a four barrel without modification. The throttle bracket is different as well as the rod that goes from the carb to the pivot.

You will never be happy with the stock set up if your fussy at all. spend the money for the lokar and be happy, They do have chinese knock offs on ebay I think there like 20 dollars, Yes lokar is exspensive but worth the price.
