Factory sender question

For those of you using a factory tank/sender with a different pump, what did you do to plug the factory sender fuel line. I was debating trying to modify it as the return, or maybe crimp/solder it internally... Thoughts or pics???

Crimped and tig welded, tried soldering, didn't work.

Just going to get some plugs made for gas and clamp them on properly...thought about soldering them up but, meh, I think the caps will work fine.
