Factory spec on plug gap?

Hey guys im getting ready to do my routine changing of the plugs as i do every two years (they are too cheap not too). I believe i have been running the factory spec on the gap. My question is are there any reasons to modify the plug gap to different than original specs?
10:1 340 .040 over with aluminum heads and intake and a pretty hot little cam.

any input is appreciated!
 
Guess thats an important detail lol forgot to include that. Using the chrysler electronic ignition with a chrome box and trail beasts distributor along with a taylor high vibration coil
