Factory Tuff Wheel Adapter Color?

Hello all,
I've made a few posts before but i'm still relatively new to the site.

Does anyone know if the factory Tuff Wheel Adapter was always painted black or did it match the steering column color?

I have a 74 Dart Sport with green interior and I am converting to a Tuff Wheel. I need to refinish the adapter I got so I want to find the correct color. All adapters I have seen are black.

i know the rim blow one same as the tuff adapter i believe matched the column.. had a blue one and a gold one.
