fan temps

I have a 69 valiant with a 408 stroker with aluminum heads, 727, aluminum rad, and I installed the ford contour/mercury mystique fans with a dakota digital controller. What are ppl running for a t stat and on off temps for the dual fans? I'm thinking a 180 t stat, low on around 210, off at 190, hi on around 220, off at 210. Am I close?

You will need to experiment with the small fan, so it shuts off at 30 mph or more. Get some indicator lights and monitor the temp under various conditions.

You only need the fans to come in when the coolant is above a particular temp but want them to turn off at driving temps

With a 180 thermostat the engine will never get under 180 (except on warm up) so if your off temp is 180 it will stay on all the time.
