I've been trying to sell my 67 notchback. I can't sell it in good conscience with a small rear main leak. If any one is interested or has a suggestion, please PM me

Well to clear your conscious I volunteer to take the car off your hands and give it a new rear main seal and a good home.

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions? If I was trying to not sell it, I would have made the price 25K. No offers yet.

Diapers aren't a joke. I made a little tray for one of the cars I had. Stuck a diaper in there once a month. Didn't soil the driveway. I wouldn't suggest selling a car without disclosing though.

You say it's fast and it leaks. Make it slow and maybe it won't leak.

My old 62 year old butt not sure of the name. Napa Permatex black magic or something , No, it is great stuff. Just clean it hard with every chemical you own. We got acetone to work, timing cover at pan, Dan Dvorack engine. almost no leak now, just a pain that his monkeys made.

Why am I selling the car? i'm 71 have had 2 heart bypasses, 2 5 level lumbar surgeries, a 3 level neck fusion, concussion with 2 brain surgeries, resect for intestinal cancer and strange as it may seem it hurts to work on the car and I'm living on just SSI. Now do you understand?

Just disclose the leak to potential buyers. Or tell them its just marking its territory.

I would not have a problem purchasing a car wit a leak.....as long as it was not a gusher....if I was told about it.....My bike drips a bit, my diesel sweats some oil as well as our Explorer so a drip here & then is pretty normal for me. Did not realize you had so many health issues...sorry if I offended you.

    Ted

Its a very nice car, i agree, just disclose the leak, mebbe buy a new rear main seal, and oil pan gasket to give to the new owner of the car when you sell it. Explain your situation to them, and tell them that if you were physically able you would have changed the seal yourself.

My dad and i completed a restoration of a 79 lil red express a number of years ago. Truck is in exellent condition top to bottom. Has won many shows. He cant seem to sell it. Im sure its his asking price of $35K but the truck is perfect in every way. I think the shitty economy is whats driving this. I told him to drop the price till its gone. Its a buyers market now not a sellers market im sorry to say.

Not to offend you the cuda you are selling is very nice however it is very dated. The 1980s large graphics paint job , and blacking out the bumpers, trim, and all the chrome is probably hurting its sale. Nowadays most muscle car people like a monochromatic paint scheme (one color) preferrably a stock color, all the chrome and trim as original. (unpainted, and shiny) the wheels and interior would be fine on a muscle car today tho. Its all about the presentation. The street freak look with big graphics died in the 80s

I realize your between a rock and a hard place on this one, you may have to come off your price a bit to sell it tho.

    Just my .02
    Matt

While I agree that it is a bit dated looking it still looks great. And disclosure/purchasing the needed parts to fix the leak is what I mentioned earlier. Unfortunately I think Ted is up against the same thing that any one selling a hot rod is......not everyone is interested in a hot rod.........throw in the bright paint scheme and the market shrinks a bit more. A buddy is trying to sell a bike very similar to mine, a bare bones chopper. And last I heard he has all but given up. The folks that are/were interested wanted to pay him next to nothing for the bike.....Best of Luck Ted....

I dont have the kind of money ted is wanting, but if i had a large amount of disposable income id be interested in it. First thing i would do strip and repaint it a nice factory color then restore all the chrome and bright work, on it. However im dirt broke poor, so i am working on a junker 67 coupe im restoring. I am a bodyman as a hobby sideline so i got all the time in the world to make it straight and rust free. That part is free for me. Eventually the kiddos will grow up and my money can be mine again, then mine will get done.

There's still a lot of us out here that like that look.Just sayin. It will probably take a little time because of the crap economy and finding someone that likes that style with the money and want for your car.Good Luck.

What motor and drive line is in it? That would be the first thing to be mentioned. Is it a hemi or a B-1 large cube motor. or a W5 race motor, Lenco with a Dana. These are the things that would raise the price. If it is a cammed up 340 360 auto Good luck on 25 K
. Your dreaming. I couldn't get that for my 340 Duster with a indy R-3.

No one is buying these cars. for that price right now. They have to be original muscle cars to bring that price. If your car was an original 383 S 4spd. with the original color it would be gone

My car didn't come orange. I mini tubed it , Caged it . and put over 40K
in the driveline. Car is flawless. Couldn't get 20K
for it so I gave it to my son.

My heart is unrepairable. So don't look to those who are in the same boat for sympathy.

My Time is limited but I still drive it and I am working on another. I too am not getting wages. But I saved and invested so I could keep going if this would happen. You got to put death on the back burner. Younger guys then us die every day . That doesn't stop them from living their dreams. Get in the car and burn the tires off it . Insure it so if you kick your wife will get payed.

I am crazier now then when I was in my prime. No cares , Don't ever pull out in front of me. That's how I live now, Sell the gun's keep the grenades. Enjoy that fast car. .

Sadly the market for cars like this is really soft. Most people would expect a bb or a hemi instead of a sb for that kind of money. It not having a heater or wipers kills it for street driving so that limits the potential buyer pool even further.

There is a buyer out there that will love this car when he finds it so it is just writing a detailed ad with tons of information as well as pictures then getting the word out. Do you have pictures of the body before the paint was done? Is the car rust free? All this information will help sell the car. Maybe get constructive with selling the car and take something that you can resell in partial trade since that will allow the buyer to fund the car easier. I have done that many times and it helps move a hard to move item.
