Very cool stuff, Cley. I really like the father son thing. It was a dream of mine for a long time, but my son went the wrong way, so it'll never happen now. I get to kinda live it through builds like yours and others on here though.

Awesome! Want to do the same with my ‘80.
My son owns it now, and a father /son build would be a father build. Hes only home 12-15 weeks a year. No time to rebuild a truck.

Well the cab looks nice and clean! Only surface rust on the floor.

the only rust hole on the cab is this spot on the rocker panel. Should be an easy fix!

Cleaning it up a piece at a time!

I picked up these seats from a 96 Dodge truck!

And my hillbilly contraption to spread the frame out so the crossmember bolts would go in.

Looking great! Is your wife complaining about the paint fumes? lol

Nice truck Cley and you are a lucky guy to have a son that's making it work.
Give him an atta boy for all of us and tell him we expect to see that truck at car shows in the future.

I got the engine ready, the transfer case ready, just need the transmission back from the shop and that can all get bolted in! It is so damn cold right now all I can do is work in the garage anyway! I guess I'll sit with my son and watch the superbowl!

No more pictures but lots of work done! E-brake system on, trans shifter on, t-case shifter on, steering box, pitman arm and drag link on. And a whole bunch of other little stuff. Primed the oil pump and it hit 75 psi off the drill motor. Getting ready to run the motor, ignition is almost jibbed up, going to take the carb off my Duster just to make a test run. I still have to clean up the headers and get them on too!
