Looking for orig ps fender pentastar emblem for my 69 cuda. Were these plastic or steel? I thought they were steel, a guy on feepay told me orig ones were plastic.
Thanks
Steve

Originally plastic....I think. Good question! I'm not sure about your Cuda, but my 72 Demon's is plastic and original.

The original ones were possibly brass or some brass colored alloy, as on my 65. Somewhere along the way, plastic was put in to play.

I think they changed somewhere around 1967 from the early all metal pentastar to the plastic based one. The early appears to be gold anodized aluminum with a self-tapping stud and nut (so it bolted on) and the later one has a plastic base with an aluminum cap glued on top that you pushed into the hole where it clipped into place. I've seen both silver and gold finishes on the later one. Never seen a steel pentastar....

ditto

You want plastic,no point adding extra weight to that hot rod.

Im hoping when I get the new suspension in her, that she can handle the extra metal on that side!
Anyone got an orig steel one?? Here we go with the needle in the haystack...but its worth a shot!
