I feel kinda dumb for asking this , but why struggle to figure it out when I'm sure other ppl have done this.
And the manual I have doesn't say crap about how to go about it & the other manual is lost.
I'm not sure exactly where all the points are for removal of the front fenders ?
It looks like to remove the one bolt that is near the front pillar , kind of inside the fender , I would need to remove the door to access it ??
I'm getting ready for paint & the fenders have some rust at the bottom & I'd like to take them off & repair them the right way.
Also , how much of the front end is part of the fender ? I've done a lot to cars , but never had the fender off.

ANY tips , advice etc......thanks a million !

The bolt underneath by the pillar you need to take out the splash shield to get to it.
There's a couple small bolts that hold it in,might have to scrape off some undercoating to get to them.

So your saying from inside the fenderwell , remove the s.shield then it can be reached ?
How about the bolts on the front , do I need to remove the grille , or just the headlight parts ?
I'm just trying to make this as smooth as possible , I dont have a garage(short of a pepboys car canopy) & am needing to get this prepped & painted before winter get here. (sooner than you think) LOL.
Where in PA are you from ? I'm in Reading, about 1hr nw of philly.

you'll need to take the headlight bezel(trim) off, a couple bolts in the front of the fender there(or from the back side...engine compartment side).

I have removed several of those nasty upper/inside fender bolts on the "A" body fenders by simply removing the bottom bolts on the fender by the quarter panel. Next, remove the lower fender braces and take out all the upper fender bolts. Now all you have to do is pull hard on the lower portion of the fender and you can then stick your arm in the space between the fender edge and the door. Using a longer socket extension, you should be able to reach the upper bolt and nut.

Alright , well I used both of your ideas of removing the splash shield AND using a few extension's put together to reach that upper (hidden) bolt.
What a pita that was , it didn't look to rusted when I finally got it out , but it turned hard all the way out.
I only took the one fender off , I think I might just leave the other one on and patch it on the car. It's not rusted as bad and would only need a small patch. I'm sure it would be better to remove it , but.....

thanks for all your help !
I'm going to get some pictures up after I get finished with everything.
