Hi folks, brand new to this site. I just picked up a solid and mostly complete project car. A low mileage (41K), numbers matching, all original 69 Barracuda at an estate auction.

I am confused with the fender tag. The decoding sites don't seam to help me much as the top line is 3 sequences of numbers and the 4th line is made up of 6 sequences of numbers.

Can anyone help me decifer the tag? Here it is:

M31 V78 EN2
C11 G31 G33 J25 M21 M25
A62 A86 B41 B51 C16 C55
B5 B5 D6B B5 526 B40299
E55 D32 BH29 P9B 390032

Thank you, I really appreciate your help.

Thanks guys, that's awesome. Makes sense.

Here are my visual observations.

- Blue (B5) exterior with matching interior
- High end (Decor) interior with wood grain dash, door panels and console. Chrome inserts in both the front and rear seats (Buckets and Bench) and chrome accents on the pedals.
- Optional valiant (delta) style steering wheel.
- 3 speed automatic with console/buckets.
- Trip odometer.
- Radio delete option. (Radio blocking cover with no antenna in fender)
- Power steering/power brakes/front discs.
- 340 (EW340 with X heads) with what seems to be matching numbers. Only 41,456 miles on engine. The condition of the body and interior seems to confirm this as there is no rust in the trunk, floor boards or rockers but the front inner fenders and outer fenders and rear quarters are rusty. The only other structural rust is in the drivers rear spring support which sadly, needs to be replaced.
- Fold down rear seat.
- Rear arm rests with ash trays.
- Passenger side mirror.
- 3 speed wiper.
- Front and Rear bumper guards.
- Deluxe 14" wheel covers.
- Chrome drip rail moldings.
- Wheel well mouldings.
- Sill mouldings.
(Dash pad is perfect and windows are all like new condition)

And something I thought was a speaker turned out to be the rear window defogger. Huh!! never seen this before. Is it odd/rare?

It was, what I think, a miracle find. I picked it up at an Estate auction for a very low price. It all seems to be there, just missing a couple of knobs in the interior and the air cleaner. Hey, it even runs, fired up with a boost and a couple pumps of the pedal.

I owned a 318 car when I was in my early twenties, sold it long ago, and have been wanting a project to work on with my son.

Again, thanks for your help and I hope to talk to you guys on a regular basis.

Patrick
