I have a 1965 Valiant V100 and have an oddity with my fender tag.

Under BDY it lists V11, which denotes it as a V8 Valiant.

But under engine, it lists 10, which denotes it as a 170 inch 6 cyl.

So what gives? Factory odd ball, or stamping mistake?

Thanks, Eric L

The code under BDY is not the engine size, but the body style of the car, which in your case is V for Valiant and 11 for Sedan! It has nothing to do with the engine size!

Cosgig is absolutely correct.
They changed to a letter and 2 numbers in 65 for body style ( under bdy on fender tag ) from earlier 3 numbers.
Check your vin on door. For 65 first digit will be a 1 for 6 cylinder valiant or a V for 8 cylinder.

Oldschoolcuda.

Ok. I got some bad info on a website for decoding data plates. Now it makes perfect sense. Thanks for the correct information. Thanks Eric L
