what are folks using for a pop-up spring after installing a fiberglass hood?

I put a Glasstec fiberglass hood on the 68 Barracuda. Using the light weight hood lift springs bought from a member here at FABO. The hood lift springs work great to hold the hood open.

I removed the factory coil spring near the factory hood latch as it seems way to stiff for the lighter hood.

I have hood pins, are there light coil springs that go on the pins?
Need something to give the hood a little lift when the pins are released.

Look at Tractor Supply or a similar outlet, I'm sure you can find something light weight enough.

I have a lift off hood on my bracket car, I put four 2" x 2" x 1" Styrofoam blocks under the holes for the hood pins before I installed my hood scoop. They compressed about a 1/4" & when the pins were pulled there was just enough room to get my fingers under the edge.
