I raced at Hales Corners (WI) from 1969 until 1983 driving and wrenching in the sportsman and late model cars.

The joint closed in 2003 and is now the site of a Menards store (on Speedway Drive).

The promoter, John Kaishain, owned Midwest Racing News and he placed this double truck ad in his paper listing all the drivers who particpated from 1949 until it's demise.

Now I have seen how much this old ad means to fans and drivers alike so I've made arrangements to reprint this ad and am making them available for sale to those who would like a chunk of history. The response on FB has been amazing... not a money maker per se just kind of a public servive.

BTW my name is on there twice... my legal name and my nick name. I guess I had baffled at one point!

I remember Duane Sweeney (Former flagman for the Indy 500) waving the final checkered flag there on their final night.
That's an awesome ad - thanks for sharing!

I grow up in the Milwaukee area and spent many days and nights at Hales corners, Cederburg, Slinger and the famed Milwaukee Mile speedways. Brings back alot of old memories.
Getting old sucks!

That reminds me that I need to take my son out to Slinger next season. He'll love it.

Many of my best racing memorial were at the Mikwaukee Mike. My dad sponsored Don White when he won the ‘72 Governers Cup 250.
Great times and memories for sure!
