Hey FABO,

So, I did some searching but didn't find quite what I was looking for.

Can you help me identify the what goes through the holes in the firewall, marked A/B/C?

I'm posting this in "ELECTRICAL & IGINTION" because I have just started installing the wiring harness and I'm having some problems identifying where everything goes.

I'm under the impression that all of the wiring from the firewall forward (towards the front bumper) originates at the bulkhead connector. Is there some wiring that passed through the firewall from inside the car?

Thank you in advance for any replies.

-MC is master cylinder

-The oval one is for clutch rod if its 4 speed, if auto it has a body plug.

-A is body plug unless you have manual windshield washer pump. In that case this would have a molded rubber plug with two hoses in it. Its an oddball size plug and wont come in a body plug kit. You can find them but they are kinda pricey for what it is. Just an uncommon size.

-The one marked speedo looks like a hole for one of the firewall insulation retaining pegs.

-B I believe is speedo cable

-C I think is emergency brake cable.

Most wiring passes through the bulkhead. On some cars there were additional wires running through the firewall. One example would be a car with resistance grid type rear defrost. These usually had an extra heavy black and red wire to handle the extra load.

The one you have marked speedo is a plastic push pin that holds the firewall insulation on the inside

A. would be washer hoses
B. is speedo
C is park brake

Thank you for the replies. Yes, I see that I did circle the wrong hole for the speedo cable.

Thanks all for the clarification.

from your picture in the first thread:
What is labelled Speedo is for one of the fasteners for the firewall insulation (from the inside)
A is indeed for manual windshield washer hoses
B is speedo
C is e-brake cable
Clutch rod is correct
MC is correct

Thanks to all for the replies.

The American Auto Wire kit I bought has leads for the wiper motor off the main branch of wires. So, I'm trying to understand if they are supposed to go through the firewall and connect to the spades on the motor.

Wiper motor has it's own harness that plugs directly into bulkhead connector. In addition there may be neutral switch/backup wires (going to tranny) using that same connector.

Yes, that is why I'm a bit confused as to why the AAW harness has the connectors has wiper wires on it.
But, the harness is 67-75 A body, so maybe it's not something I need for a 70 Duster.
