flat iron steak

-
just bought what is called a flat iron steak anyone ever cooked one of these and how did you if so

I would put it in a plastic bag with your favorite marinade for at least 2-3 hours and then cook it in a very hot skillet for about 3-4 minutes a side.

120 degree's for rare............... dont cut it for about 5 to 10 minutes after its done......... enjoy

Sounds like expert advice to me.

cool they got them marked down at store so i thought i would try one i guess i will cook one next day or so as i cooked way to much spaghetti again last night

cool i aint had one before i normally buy chuckeye steaks cause they are tender and taste good and affordable lol

thats why i dig chuck eyes at 3.99 a pound its a great cut try it sometime and you aint paying for the bone

this is my all time favorite cut, I do up an herb rub and then BBQ them (med to high on a preheated bbq) for a few min a side, basically until they start to get warm in the middle : ) nice and rare.

The meat cutter told me its the second most tender steak they carry and the second cheapest.

this is my all time favorite cut, I do up an herb rub and then GRILL them (med to high on a preheated grill) for a few min a side, basically until they start to get warm in the middle : ) nice and rare.

There, I fixed it for ya!! lol

I've done several by soaking the steak in marinade and used indirect heat on the grill for cooking.

The local County Market ( chain supermarket ) has Flat Iron ( flank steak ) pre-marinated and work great on the George Foreman @ med-rare.

Don't cook past medium or it will be tough. Cut against the grain.
Beef: it's what's for dinner lol.
