Floor console shifter question

Do the early A body floor console automatics use a cable? I picked one up and it has no cable and I was wondering how to install it on a 727.
Pics would be great if anyone has them!

1964 a bodys are push button,,,cable contolled,,,1965 a bodys floor mounted auto shifter cable controlled,,,/6 and v 8

I've got an extra floor shift with the simulated woodgrain knob...missing the button...make me an offer....
