Does anyone have any stories about how flowtech headers; fit issues etc. I have just purchased a set for my 75 360 Duster with power steering, STD brakes. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated; they are ceramic coated so if I can avoid banging them up it would help.

Thanks
Jamie

I had a set on a Coronet a few years back, seem to be as good as anything else. Not a bad set of headers, just not getting the big name like TTI or Hooker. But for a good street car there just fine.

very tight fit with power steering, installed the none ceramic coated ones in my '74 duster 360. the passenger side fits fine no real issue there, but driver side is a little tougher. Also, one of the tubes sticks out just a tad further than is hoped for, and the steering column shaft with the coupler on the end will conflict with the tube. The steering coupler is to bulky and hits into the pipe cylinder #5 (i think, either that or #6) Here is the thread on this problem we encountered.

To fix that. We bought a coupler from Flaming River that was a cheap fix and works excellent here is another thread on the discussion we had about that too.

All in all you will get them in and should clear everything just with a little persuasion.

WARNING !!!! drop center link FIRST before installing headers, only way to do it !

Also, not sure about it, BUT... you might have better luck than us and not have to go through the trouble we did. Who knows !!

Well.... I bought some and put them on a '69 Valiant 2 door post 318 p.s. standard brakes, I converted the car to bbp brakes with no power assist, anyway, I had to shim the motor mounts up 1/4" to raise the engine up and it still hit the p.s. box slightly, I had to ding the pipes slightly there not a big deal, the worst was I had to do was ding the #5 pipe 1/2" to clear the coupler on the steering shaft. The passenger side was good except it hit the torsion bar and had to ding it slightly too.
A friend of mine had a '75 Dart sport with the same set up, other than a spool k-member and the only thing he had to do was clearance the pipe at #5 a little other than that, they fit very well.
I looked on the website and they stated that they were not intended for power steering, so there you go.
I hope this helps you.
Tom.

I thought it said that you bought the Boregson one not the flaming river one?

So will the boregson one work with power steering ? I need to buy one also I'd rather spend $22.00 than $169.00 from flaming river.

i believe they are basiclly the same as the hookers and headmans. hang low and tight fit. tube goes ove #5 & #7 plugs and are hell on plug wires.

haha yeah my bad. It wasn't Flaming River, i just remember talking it over with my dad and forgot we went to Boregson. But YES Boregson works perfect !! i would definitely recommend using it, if you are having problems with clearing the tube. cheap fix too

Thanks man thats all I needed to know that way im one step closer to being able to drive my duster.

Hey Jamie, if you want to get a set of uncoated ones I have an unused set still in the box. I would sell them very cheap just let me know. I put shorties on mine.

Just checked the picture of them on the Summit site, they look exactely like the hookers that came on my previous duster, don't know how easy they went on but they were a "*****" getting off, finally had to saw-zall them into pieces to get them off, and the number 5 and 7 plugs are'nt the easiest to get at,and you need to route the wires around the 5 and 7 tubes to avoid burning them..
