Hello all,

After a looong period of raising kids, playing soldier, and a host of other things I finally got to get back to my MOPAR roots.

Recently purchased a 72 Swinger with the 225. Last Mopar I had was my 73 Charger, before that a 68 Coronet, before that a 67 Dart, before that a 66 Baracuda, somewhere in there a I had a retired Police Monaco, and I remember being a tratior for a short period when I owned a 454 Nova.

So here I am retired / disabled from the Army and my civilian job from the war. Been building one of choppers for rest and relaxation for the last few years, and got the itch to do a period correct 70's hot rod/race car.

I am luckier than most as during my working years I managed to build a small machine shop in my garage, lathe, mill, tig, mig, and other goodies that sat while I worked and prepared for retirement, just didn't expect to be out for the count at 46. Grew up working in my Dad's machine shop so I didn't have to the trial and error with learning the machinery.

Thats the short version.

Stu, welcome to FABO. Sorry to hear about your forced retirement, hope you're still able to take advantage of the machine shop you built to make some cool parts for your Dart project. If you need any advice there are a lot of very knowledgeable and helpful people on this site always willing to help. What are your plans for the car, oh and ya.....pictures please.

welcome, and sorry to hear about the premature retirement. Around here you could probably parlay some of those machining skills into extra income, if you would choose to do so,,,,,just a thought. Glad to see you found us, we've been waiting for you

Here are some pics I just took, light wasn't the greatest.

One before Iraq (the 2nd trip) two after, I was down about 18 months waiting on cervical fusion from Iraq injuries so I only managed to build one in 18 months, and then one since the surgery last year.
