forgot to lube new front crankshaft seal,should i ?

im playing it safe,wont take much to pull it back off.
Many years ago when I was learning, I did a timing chain job and when I cranked the car it had a horrible squeal. The shop foreman took a oil can and with one squirt to the balancer hub the squeal went away! I forgot to lube the seal. Yeah I would grease it.
