So earlier today as i was cleaning the back seat area( deck and seat) for glass, and to get certain things painted. While i was there i decided to remove the seat to prevent overspray. Now This was the very first time i had removed the bottom part of the rear seat. I found another buildsheet and this one is in better condition than the first i found. I honestly dont even think the first was to my car.. The first buildsheet was partly burned, ripped, and said different things which is why im pretty sure it wasnt to this car.. But they were both for 72 darts, so why would this be, do you think someone swapped in a different seat at once? Now the last buildsheet is lost(i think?) i know i have it somewhere but theres so much crap everywhere i would have to look very hard and its only about a quarter size of the new one i found :( does anyone know what all the codes mean? In particular the axle codes and what "H series 1972" means at the top of the sheet? I know i write alot lol but i would like some help. Thanks

I know i know, i could have used the search button.. I did! And i didnt find too much help, im starting to wonder if my car was built from a whole lotta different parts? The fenders have extra holes above the "swinger" script what went there?im pretty sure its the "Dart" script but not a 100% ?? Its a 72 dart swinger by the way. The axle code is d51 and the next box over says "d8 size" with a "1" in the box. What's the difference between the box that says "udf color-gB5", "paint style v01", "body paint-hB1" and im guessing "roof-paint/style top- v1w is a vinyl top, but what color would that be? And the next box which is "stripe-v5x" what the heck is that lol ? Now i got the car in piece's for 600 bucks. So i think i did good lol and nothing was on everything was bare,and/or spare. Except for seats and a rotten carpet. Anyone with any help on my questions i greatly appreciate it thanks.

I wouldnt be uncommon to find several build sheets in a vehicle, the assembly workers sometimes leave em there or throw em in the trash can. When you say the rear seat you mean between the seat springs and cushions? Thats the most common place to find one, I have found em on top of headliners etc etc.

Yep, it was in between the springs, the first one i found under the front bench which was really prettymuch ratfood. Any info on the codes? And where i can get the rear sail panels? This car has a cardboard like headliner, is this common in 70's a-bodies? I broke one of the rear pieces by accident and now am looking for a source on those. Could there be another bsheet in the headliner? I was very happy when finding it lol i felt like a little kid with candy.

i have seen cars that had 3 or 4 of them hidden. even my charger had four. the build sheet mirrors the fender tag. there is a VIN number on the broadcast sheet. i have even heard of original cars with a misplaced sheet from another car in them. post a pic of your fender tag if you want it decoded. it will show whats on the build sheet. if you are looking for parts try posting a want add. cardboard headliners were extremely common.

hmm buildsheets from other cars you mean? I read a thread by adamr with a bunch of option codes, annd some of my questions are answered. I mostly wanted to know what "h series 1972" up top the buildsheet meant.

H series 1972;

H is the series (model year) 1972

Some cars have as many as five broadcast sheets inside. Not all of them match the car they are found in due to the way the sub-assembly lines were run at the plants.

Cool, thanks. I have found some sail panels, on the local craigslist, does anyone know what the price on those should be? The seller said to make em' an offer, but idk what they go for? Anyone got any insight on that? Just the panels, right and left. Thanks guys.

I found five buildsheets in my unmolested 73 Satellite.

One under the front seat- not for my car but for another 73 Sat with the same color interior.

A stack of them under the rear seat, one for my car, a couple blanks still attached to the perforated printer paper, and a couple odd ones including one for a 72 Charger that says "do not build" on the bottom...all attached.

thats really cool. i have found blanks before, i wish i had kept them. there was even a thread here somewhere where one of these guys had pics of part of a build sheet pinched between the bumper bracket and the front frame rail on a C body

look/feel over the actual glove box, that where ive had best luck. they are usually under trunk mat(long gone) under carpet on the hump, glove box, front seat, rear seat. tks mike

only thing in the glove box area, was the original owners insurance card(i just installed a re-pop glovebox).. No buildsheet. Oh and some toys along with a very old cigarette.. Under the carpet there is nothing :( i still havent checked the rear carpet... Wow, actual blank broadcast sheets? I wonder why/how that came to be..
