How many 4 door owners out there?

I am finishing up my 4 door 72 Dart and my dad is "meh, it's a 4 door."

I got the car with a "strong" 318/904 combo and dual exhaust that I had to get running. So far I have:

Installed F-body front brakes
Put in new torsion bars (.920s)
All new rubber/components in the front end
Installed a Hellwig sway bar in front/Addco sway bar in back
8.25 rear w/3.21s and a sure grip & 11" brakes
New 6 leaf rear springs
replaced a crunched PS fender
installed sub frame connectors
welded in new sheet metal in the PS floor board
painted the entire floor with oil based enamel
Fixed all the lights and etc
Got a set of 4 steelies and tires

In the wings I have:

360 from an 85 D350 - at machine shop now, gonna' be a mild build
Doug's headers
seat belts (3pt) for front

Plan is to get it aligned/inspected/painted before summer is over.

Well all that to say/ask: anyone else out here messing with 4 door cars in A-body America? Or are they all parts cars? You know: "No real car has 4 doors." and such.

TLDR; Anyone else messing with 4 door a-bodies?

I love the 4 doors. I've had 5 Valiants and they've all been 4 doors. So what? It's still a classic MOPAR.

When I was in high school the kids with the 4 door cars were more popular because when you ditched class you could fit more people into one to go to 7-11.

Oh, I obviously don't have a problem with them. I put a lot into this one....more than I have done to a lot of other cars. Just didn't know if anyone else is doing this sort of stuff with 4 doors. At least there are 2 of us!

I started doing what I could to save some, it is always sad to see a complete 4-door parted so some 2-door owner can use the parts.

1970 Valiant 4-door with 318, 3-speed stick shift, 3.23 8 3/4, HD drum brakes, manual steering 38K miles.

1970 Fury III 4-door, 383-2v, automatic, 3.23 8 3/4 with the towing package, so it has HD 15" wheels, HD leaf springs, HD 11" drum brakes & front sway bar. 88K miles.

Yup 4 door dart here and will be replacing the front frame rails soon.
Super 6 in it from a 82 truck now but will be putting a 60 over teener with 340 cam and rebuilt thermobog in it once the rails are replaced. Years ago had a cbody 8.75 rear shortened and I put that in with 3:55 gears and clutch SG (which I'll be replacing with 3:23 gears and rebuilding the SG)

I have cheapo abody blackjack headers to use if they'll fit proper but if they don't stock abody mani's will do.

Had already previously welded in frame connectors and replaced leaf springs. Will be completely rebuilding front suspension and going with 11.75" disks in front as I already have the 11" Cbody drums out back.

This car was driven by an ol guy who had it rustproofed and drove it all seasons. When I got it from him for 250 bucks it was pretty rusty and had a busted torsion bar. I welded in floors and bondo'd it up rattle canned it... hey why not for that price lol

Like my 4dr as its something different and gets me around in the summer

This is a dilemma I have in the driveway right now.

Bought a four door '74 with busted k frame for parts for my '75 valiant four door and '72 swinger..... and with a k frame it's really too nice to part out, but it has little street value ?

My daily driver is a 75 Dart SE 4-door slant six with factory air, except the inner crank pulley broke so it is done right now. I love driving that car, and I own 13 Darts with 340's, 383's, 440's and even a Hemi Dart, although very few of those run too...

We have a couple Valiant 4 doors...

They won't laugh after we kick their 2 door's *** and they see our tail lights... Nothing wrong with a 4 door...

My street legal bracket racer (then) and now (black with chute), yes same 1965 four door Valiant. Sold it in 1980 as shown in first foto.

I don't have a four door per se, but I love wagons and I get the same attitude for my wagons all the time. I get "why would you want a old dinosaur wagon"

people don't appreciate four doors or wagons and its a horrible thing when they don't.

I have had people ask me if I am going to Demo derby my Coronet wagon..... :( and people say my valiant wagon is ugly :(

and people say my valiant wagon is ugly :(

When I first got my 66 Valiant wagon, I was cruising it in small-town Arkansas on main street and a group of about 4-5 teenage girls laughed out loud and shouted, "That's your car????" :icon_fU: :icon_fU: :icon_fU:

Plenty of nice 4 doors. I have one too.

The 4 doors are affordable. The two doors are so out of reach for cash buys in these parts and the prices they do want the body work better be top notch. I hate body work so the super clean 4 door for cash was a gold deal for me.

Canadian 2 door full size 60s pontiacs are still a good grab here. Parisienne and impala same car....but parisiennes are quite a bit cheaper. Still wanting one eventually.

The main problem with doing up 4 doors if you ever want to sell.

But there seems to be more 4 door survivers out there, if you can get for an reasonable amount take all the same parts as a 2 Dr to make them fast and handle.

But personally a 4 Dr is an all year round daily driver to me.

To me if I put a bunch of time and $$$ into a car, I want it to be a year round daily driver. Of course, I live in TX and don't have to worry about salted roads and stuff like that. As long as I stay off the beach, all is good.

Spending 20 k on a car really ain't ****.
If you love it. If you really love it. And you aren't poor. Resale doesn't matter ****. Opinions don't matter ****.

Only car nerds and posers care my Valiant is a 4 door.

I love it. I love the utility. And I love the obscurity. When I wanna go somewhere with my friends, they want to take the Valiant.
