Hi Sam. They haven't been taken yet even though I had a guy promise to be here Sunday then he didn't show, call or anything after I put them in boxes and lugged them out of the attic.:angry7: I know that has nothing to do with you, just hoping he'll read this and see I don't think that was cool.

The reason I said pickup only is I have severe degenerative disc disease in my back and am loosing the ability to lift/carry much of anything without severe pain. I'd love to see these mags go to good use but I don't have the strength anymore to box them up and get them to the post office. I did a set of heads a couple weeks back and I still haven't recovered from them and after I put these mags in boxes for the guy who was supposed to pick them up I see they weigh just as much as the heads. I'm sure you know paper products are very heavy.

Thanks for asking and I wish I could ablige but it would be too much on me.

Tracy

paper media shipping isn't to bad the post office gives a break on this,to bad you don't have someone who could take to the post office for you,I can't believe some people won't pick up when offered for free. thanks Sam
by the way I do hope your health gets better, take care

Yeah I've heard media mail is allot cheaper. I wish I had somebody to help me. It seems like everybody I know works during the day so it's hard to find help during that time. Thanks for the well wishes. I appreciate it. Tracy

I'm not positive but I bet they don't where I live. I'm not way out in the country but it's still classified rural. But the post office has free pickup I just found out. Their allready gone though. A local picked them up. Thanks for the info.

Magazines do not qualify for media rates. This is according to the web info and my local office.

If i remember correctly... what I was told if it has any type of advertising, it does not qualify.... what I don't get... how do they know any different? I would have loved to get the magazines.... but Mississippi to IL is a long drive :) haha Plus my wife would have killed me if I brought more magazines home. I have Hot Rod all the way back to 1957!! :)

I just looked it up and your right. Here's a copy and paste of the qualifications of medial mail right from the USPS website.

Media Mail® service is a cost efficient way to mail books, sound recordings, recorded video tapes, printed music, and recorded computer-readable media (such as CDs, DVDs, and diskettes). Media Mail can not contain advertising except for incidental announcements of books. The maximum weight for Media Mail is 70 lbs.

I suppose if you were so minded you could just tell them it was books but since it's a govt. office I would never chance it.

Wow Hot Rod all the way back to 57!! Man that'd be like 600 plus magazines. I bet your wife would kill you if you drug home another 6 yrs. worth.:toothy10:
