Hey guys, i think i need your opinions on a noise. Not sure if this should be here or in Slant discussion.

I am pretty sure its a exhaust leak, but i am having trouble ruling out the valves.

I adjusted the valves a few weeks ago, and the noise didnt change, so i am pretty sure its a leak. I was tuning the slant today, set the timing at about 5 before, it was way rich, so i adjusted the mixture too, then i ran it to try to feel a exhaust leak.

I cant feel anything leaking, or smell a leak, but No5 exhaust looks suspect. I think it has a reaaaaaaal thin gasket on it, but i have a thicker Fel Pro replacement.

I took pics and some video too, to see what other people think. Its kinda hard to hear the noise though, but going down the road, you can really hear it, untill you get off the gas, unlike a valve where the noise would decrease in frequency instead of becoming quieter.

might as well start spraying the nuts and bolts with pb blaster and be prepared for the very front or the very rear stud to break off and need to be drilled and easy out'd....look over the manifold away from the cylinder head for signs of the famous slant six exhaust manifold crack...if it isn't cracked then put in the new gasket.....

Already soaking, hopefully the hardware will come off easy, the motor was rebuilt not too long ago, with not a whole lot of miles between then and now.

Clean up that exhaust manifold when you get it off and paint some POR 15 high heat manifold paint on it.....

I had no luck with two of those thin gaskets on my old slant. I ended up using the thicker one, and it worked perfectly. I'm sure it accounted for the out of level conditions on the intake/ehaust manifolds.

i tried searching a bit more for the leak, i used some seafoam, then water down the carb, didnt see any steam or anything escaping from anywhere, hmmmm

You are overthinking this. Get a length of hose, like 3/8 fuel hose, and stick one end near your ear. Be careful, if you have a BIG leak, you don't want an "earful." Just probe around with the hose, and if it's an exhaust leak, you'll find it.

If you think it's a valve, devise whatever you need, short length of rigid tube, etc, and attach to the end of the hose. Stick it down the oil filler port, and remove the PCV valve and probe down there. IF it gets louder, it's probably a valve.
