i have a 72 duster that i drag race. my problem is every time i leave the
tires toe in like 4". i have had it in the front end shop twice and still does the
same. i found one of the problems it had b body upper control arms on it
when i bought it and i didn't know it. it made it better but it still isn't right
and the severe toe in is killing my 60'.
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
mike

i know how to align a front end i just have never seen a big swing from toed in to toed out when you raise the car up 4 inches

Get a copy of the Mopar Suspension book. The fix for that and more is in there.

2 things:

1. You didn't swap your spindles side-to-side to make it a front steer did you?

2. The lower control arms and the tie rods MUST be the same length and be at
exactly the same angle (reside in the same plane).

well ole man mopar gets the sticky star for the week
the spindles were swapped from side to side
easy way to tell is the hole for the tab on brake line bracket it missing if they are reversed

i guess you have a rack in your hotrod. like "old man mopar" saysabout the arm need to be the same length and the steering arms arn't traveling parallel with the lower control arm now. take a look at them from the front. it will be pretty obvious to see. you can raise or lower the rack or the easier way is to shim the heim joint/tie rod end up or down with washers until you get zero or near zero during the travel from ride height to total extension. a cheap toe gauge and a buddy helps out doing this because it will take you a few hours to satisfy yourself with the result.
