I went to start the 74 Duster the other day and nothing doing. I wasn't getting any gas when i was turning it over. It is a 318 car with a 625 Carter on it. I primed the front fuel bowls on the carb and it started right up and stays running just fine. I shut it down and started it a few times and it was OK. If it sets more than half a day or so I have to reprime it to get it going and then it runs and starts fine again.:sad2: What do you think?
That's a pretty common situation with the AFB and today's junk fuel, atlhough it normally takes longer than half a day to evaporate the fuel from the carb. I'd suspect maybe a fuel leak somewhere.
To start my car you had to pump the gas a bunch of times for it to start. Since then I have added electronic ignition and a mini starter and it fire's right up with the required 2 pumps of the gas.
I got it fixed. Fuel pump was ok. I think it was the accellerator pump in the carter. I threw a TQ on it until I can rebuild it. Thanks.
Save your money, the Eddy is cracked internally and leaking all the fuel out of it when it sits for a while. They're all cracked and should all be used for door stops.
