Gas tank and sender ebay Any Good?

-
I bought my fuel sender from that seller several years ago. No complaints

there is some difference in the tanks, but have to ownder if all the pickups are bout the same?? prices differ 20-30 $ some free shippin. if someone wanted to make a better one, perhaps they would use stainless?????
my gas gauge never works anyway, so I buy the cheapest! LOL

I've used Van's in the past because they are in neighboring Wisconsin. No complaints either. I bought a tank at Back to the 50's in June from a local vendor - Auto City Classics. The show price including tax was $150. So, $190 for tank and sender is a good price. Everyone will tell you to reuse your old lock ring. Today's lock ring and gasket sets are thinner and don't always seal well. I replaced the gasket with a fuel resistant thicker o-ring. $15 for shipping is very reasonable.

Worked well....I used the new lock ring that comes with it....I know, I know, You all say to use the old lock ring but I am daring....I used the new one and the sending unit sealed good with no leaks....I filled it up to the top and drove for awhile, then let it set for awhile and got under to look, and it was dry as a bone....no leaks....

Oh , so now my gas gauge finally works! Yay!

The brass float had a hole in it where the arm clamps around it so it was sunk.....Also the plastic piece inside the sender that has the resistance wire wrapped around it fell out and was laying in the bottom of the tank....the metal arm on the other end of the float touches this piece, that is how it varies its resistance between 10 ohms and 90 ohms....So it had two reasons why it wasn't going to work....

Now tomorrow I undercoat everything
