Gasket Sealant

Should I use sealant on the rubber seals on each end of the oil pan? If so, what kind is best for this application? If so, just on the pan side of the gasket or on the block side also?

Contact cement everything to the pan. Rubber ends first then the gaskets. Let them tack up and then install dry no sealant.

I like to run a small bead of RTV black where the rubber end seals meet the pan gasket.

If you want it to never leak, get rid of the gasket & just use silicon....
