I thought I would show you guys what I am working on. The car is originaly a 75 dart sport with a 318. As you can see I am building a nonstreet legal drag car.

What I have done to the car:

Made my own dash.

Put fiberglass 70 fenders, hood and doors. "before I hit the track the lexan windows and windshield will be in the car"

Relocated the springs and put a 8.75 with 3.91 posi, dutchman axles and wildwood disc brakes. Minitubed the rear and running hoosier 27x10.5x15 slicks, and 25x3.5x15 fronts.

I took out the gas tank and installed a 12 gallon fuel cell.

Droped in a 360.
Engine specs are:

kb flat tops, mp 528 cam, ported 340 j heads with 2.08 intake and 1.62 exhuast valves, rpm intake, hooker competition headers, mini starter, electronic ignition, holley 600 dp carb. "I will be putting a 750 DP on soon"

I also had a friend help me rebuild a 999 trans and installed a shift kitted valve body. We put in a mopar performance 175k torque converter.

I tell you what, if it wasnt for friends I would have never been able to put this car together. I am a complete noob to hot rodding. so thanks very much to all that has helped me.

Could I get a couple of educated guesses of what the car will weigh on race day. thanks

way? or weight?

bumper glass or steel?

put the tach higher so you can see it going down the track with out taking your eyes off the track..or get a shift light.

I see a radio in the dash>? street driven? full exhaust ?

front is a complete 70 bumper and rear is a modified 75. I took the inner support brace out and I am making my own brackets for the rear. i also took the inner support off of the trunk lid and am using it as a pin on. there was not enough room for the hinges after my cousin installed the mini tub.

i would guess around 2800 lbs...using our two A bodies as examples as they weigh in at 2750...

you might be under the 2800 with lexan windows..dont know if you got fiberglass bumpers or not..plus exhaust

are the doors 73?...cause they might have the steel beams in them for side impact which add weight to the car...

but get as much weight as possible out of the car....

I will put on fiberglass bumpers and brackets. as well as a fiberglass fron valance, and trunk lid. but that is after I have reced it for half the season.
