GM 1 wire

I just got a hold of a Chrysler alternator that has been converted into a GM 1 wire style setup. I was wondering if any body has one of these and the best way to hook it up and what gauge wire. I've got a trunk mount battery in the dart,

I did this to my duster and i ran a 8 ga wire and did a mounting block on fender thand ram 00 cable to starter from battery. hope this helps.

I put a distribution block inside the dash. Should that wire going to the alt be hot all the time?
