A readily available subsititue is Comp Camps, break in additive. It is available from all the mail order suppliers, or a local speed shop. Add one bottle to each oil change, and the flap tappet worries are solved.

Yes it does. I put STP oil additive in my 318 with every oil change. If you look on the back of the bottle at the ingredients you will see "Zinc dithiophosphate".

exactly, you would need many bottles.

I will keep with the stuff that the Camshaft manufacturer recommends, I will believe that they know best......
